On November 5, 2021, the 4th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "CIIE") officially kicked off. As a platform for exchanges between Chinese and foreign companies and a window for China's opening to the outside world, the 2021 CIIE attracted nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 127 countries and regions to participate in the corporate exhibition, and the total exhibition area was expanded to 366,000 square meters. Among them, the world's top 500 and industry leading companies participated enthusiastically, with a return rate of more than 80%, and the number of exhibitors was higher that of the previous session.
The 4th China International Import Expo was meticulously planned for several months and made a stunning appearance. From November 5 to 10, 2021, the highlights of the global trade community will be presented at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. This is a very unique architectural shape. From the sky above, it is a four-leaf clover that stretches and softly. The light and shadow effects make it unique and charming.
In 2021, the fourth China International Fair focused on the current trend and set up six theme pavilions, covering the field of skin care, trade in goods, trade in services, industrial status, investment tourism and representative products. Compared with previous sessions, the 4th CIIE is getting better and better. The participating countries cover more than 50 countries on five continents. For the first time, this CIIE will use technical means such as virtual reality and three-dimensional modeling to build a standardized digital exhibition hall for the participating countries, display the national characteristics of the participating countries by themes. At the same time, interactive functions are set up to enhance the effect of online display and highlight the country's unique regional culture and characteristic industry advantages.
In addition, the Convention and Exhibition Plaza of the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center highlights the sense of solemnity and ritual through the arrangement of box-planted trees, while defining the landscape space. Different areas use different colors of grass and flowers as the theme, using four colors of purple, blue, orange red, and yellow to distinguish the moving lines of visitors and create a warm welcoming atmosphere.
In the 4th CIIE in 2021, the National Exhibition will be held online for the first time this year, mainly showing the following characteristics. Firstly, wide coverage. Fifteen countries made their debut at the national exhibition for the first time, and five of them participated in the CIIE for the first time. Participating countries are all over five continents, covering developed, developing and the least developed countries. Countries along the “Belt and Road” are actively participating. Secondly, new display format. Purchase 3D modeling, virtual engine and other technical means to create an immersive digital exhibition hall. Visitors can browse the contents of the exhibition hall online, and quickly obtain the participation status and exhibit information of the country's enterprises through the exhibition hall link. Thirdly, good exhibition experience. The exhibition hall focuses on the development of participating countries, advantageous industries, cultural tourism and other content, fully showing the world's diverse civilizations and the economic development of various countries. In the past four years, a total of 120 countries and 3 international organizations have participated in the national exhibition.
In addition to the national exhibition, the enterprise exhibition also continued to set up six exhibition areas for food, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment, medicine and health care, and service trade, showing the following characteristics: First, the scale of the exhibition is larger, the country structure is better, and the total exhibition area is further expanded to 366,000 square meters. In addition to developed countries such as the United States, Japan, and Germany, more countries along the “Belt and Road”, Central and Eastern European countries and the least developed countries will participate in the exhibition. The number of overseas small and medium-sized enterprises participating in the exhibition has further increased. Second, exhibitors have better quality and higher display level. The return rate of the world's top 500 and leading enterprises in the industry exceeded 80%, and the number of exhibitors exceeded the previous session. The world’s three major auction houses, three major fashion high-end consumer goods groups, four major food merchants, ten major automobile groups, ten major industrial electrical companies, top ten medical device companies, and top ten cosmetics companies will all participate in the exhibition. It is expected that a large number of new products will be launched. The proportion of special booths has increased for three consecutive times, reaching 96%. Third, the exhibition area is more cutting-edge and more professional. Focus on domestic development needs, innovate exhibition themes, and set up 13 special areas such as energy, low-carbon and environmental protection technology and innovation incubation to connect high-quality supply resources and urgent market needs. Under the framework of the exhibitor alliance, 14 professional committees such as medical devices, smart travel and new energy were established to build a platform for government-enterprise dialogue and industry exchange. In addition, we have also set up a centralized exhibition area for central and Eastern European countries.
In addition, the on-site services of the 4th CIIE in 2021 will be more detailed and thoughtful. This comprehensive service area is subdivided into service types, with four special areas for finance and insurance, legal rights protection, logistics and communication, and policy interpretation. The catering service is thoughtful, realizing the full coverage of the service functions of “ordering food online and picking up food at the store” for catering merchants. The certificate service is more convenient, accurately matching the certificate authority of the participants and the epidemic prevention information, and realizes the passage effect of "non-contact, non-perception, and non-stop". As a preface to the application of technology, this CIIE will achieve full coverage of digital RMB payment in the exhibition scene and provide a one-stop consumer payment experience for digital RMB. The 5G communication in the venue will also be fully accelerated and expanded to create a "Smart Expo" in an all-round way.
During the epidemic period, in terms of epidemic prevention and control, all relevant departments in Shanghai strictly implemented measures such as the overall plan for epidemic prevention and control of the 4th CIIE, and implemented measures such as“whole-process closed-loop management, whole-chain traceability, all-staff vaccination, and all-staff Nucleic acid testing, all inspection and access, and comprehensive environmental disinfection”, without any relaxation, continue to strengthen the epidemic prevention work in the venues to ensure the epidemic prevention safety of “people, objects, and museums”.
